President Rajapaksa arrives in Israel

President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his entourage arrived in Jerusalem in Israel this morning on 08 January as the final leg of the three nation Middle East official visit. President Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa were warmly welcomed by Israeli and Sri Lankan children as they arrived in Jerusalem.  Sri Lankan Head of State arrived in Jerusalem from Bethlehem.

The Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, hosted Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, Palestinian President Dr. Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah for dinner on Monday evening (06 January). Many local and foreign dignitaries were present at the dinner hosted by the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III.

A three member official delegation led by Mr. Razik Zarook/ Chairman of the Bank of Ceylon and Mr. Amal Senalankhadikara, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment along with Mr. Herath Mudiyanse, Senior Deputy General Manager of the Bank of Ceylon visited Israel from 22nd to 25th October 2013 to conduct a Promotional Seminar on "Remittances to Sri Lanka" on an invitation extended by Sri Lanka’s Ambassador in Israel Mr. Sarath Wijesinghe.

Christmas Celebrated In Brussels With Participation Of Sri Lankans Of All Faiths

Eight bilateral agreements signed between Kenya and Sri Lanka

The Sri Lankan delegation, headed by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, held bilateral talks with its Kenyan counterpart, headed by President Uhuru Kenyatta at the State House in Nairobi on 14 December. Earlier Kenyan President Kenyatta warmly received President Rajapaksa upon arrival at the State House for bilateral talks. The two leaders shook hands warmly in a physical and symbolic gesture of friendship between the two nations. Kenyan President gave Sri Lankan President a warm welcome before reviewing a guard of honour.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is on a four day state visit to Kenya met his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta Saturday afternoon on 14 December.  Kenya’s President Kenyatta warmly received President Rajapaksa upon arrival at the State House in Nairobi for bilateral talks. Kenyan President gave Sri Lankan President a ceremonial welcome before reviewing a Guard of Honour.
